WarterGate Plagues Gingrich in Nevada

The recent rumors surrounding Newt Gingrich's cousin Wart Muckman, alleging that Gingrich has bribed judges on Wart's behalf, appear to have severely damaged Gingrich's results in Nevada. The allegations first surfaced on the prominent blogs of David Sirota and Glenn Greenwald and have been dubbed 'WarterGate'. Gingrich finished a distant fourth behind Cthulhu, Snagglepuss and Mitt Romney.

Nevada marks the first delegate gains for the pink puma and the elusive deity of unspeakable horror. Snagglepuss was the early favorite to win the race, but continues to be dragged down by the efforts of the SCRAM PAC. Some analysts believe that Cthulhu's purported propensity for destroying the sanity of those who speak his name is responsible for the lack of attack ads against him.

The next key date to watch is February 7th, when voters go to the polls in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri. Meanwhile Maine holds its caucuses through February 11th.
